About me
TL;DR: French ex-anthropology student turned Berlin-based freelance editor. Technically precise, radically female-gaze-oriented. Editing like it’s going to the Oscars, even if it’s just an ad for oat milk.

Hi, I’m Rébecca Alquier Jacquart, freelance editor, currently based in Berlin. Originally from France with a background in anthropology, I pulled a full Nara Smith and made a movie from scratch at the age of 21 (a feminist piece about modern day witches in Austria).
Turns out it takes a bit more to make a good movie, but that experience made me realise this is what I want to do professionally.
I trained and worked in France in ARTE’s editorial department, then moved to Berlin, where I mostly worked for public broadcasters before transitioning toward more creative, music- and advertising-focused projects. During these years I had the chance to work for a wide range of clients such as Opel, Stapelstein, Ebay, Samsung, BCG, Helion for online formats, digital campaigns, TV spots and long format documentaries.
Now freelancing and open for work, I combine strong technical skills with a deep sensitivity to storytelling. I edit, grade, and mix: always aiming for emotionally resonant, visually cohesive work. I’m particularly interested in exploring the female gaze and its relevance in contemporary visual narratives.
